The Institution of Secondary Engineers (ISecEng) offers pupils the opportunity to develop professional skills and schools the opportunity to quantify that provision.

Prolonged engagement can lead pupils to achieve Chartered or Fellow status; showcasing to industry and further education a pupil’s aptitude for transferable skills, and in so doing increasing pupil’s employability and career aspirations. The Institution is driven by the ISecEng committee in schools, which provides links to local industry and the STEM community through linked engineers and parents. Teachers are provided with software which maps the skills involved in projects, both curriculum and extra-curricular based. This mapping exercise enables the school’s ISecEng Committee to identify areas to develop engagement activities and allows pupils to reflect on the skills they are engaging with.
